Mt. Zion Animal Clinic - Our Veterinary Services

Mt. Zion Animal Clinic stresses the importance of an annual wellness examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our veterinarians are experts in the early detection and treatment of complex medical and surgical conditions.  We will make certain that owners fully understand every diagnosis, and are presented with all treatment options before proceeding.      

Surgical Services:  Our highly skilled veterinary surgeons perform a wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries in our state-of-the-art surgical suite.  We also work closely with veterinary surgical specialists both at our clinic and at referral centers when necessary.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, every patient's vital signs are monitored by a veterinarian and a veterinary technician during all anesthetic procedures.

Internal medicine and Cancer Treatment: Our veterinarians expertly diagnose and treat most internal medicine cases, but will consult with internal medicine specialists on complex cases when needed.  We offer in-house cancer treatment and referral to a veterinary cancer center if needed.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, digital x-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs allowing the quick and accurate diagnosis of many disorders.  We have a board certified veterinary radiology specialists who performs all of the abdominal ultrasounds at our facility.

Cardiology Services:  We provide on-site diagnostic ECG services, cardiac ultrasounds, and consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip placement and microchip identification.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  Our team of veterinarians can help you to solve most of your pet's behavioral problems by utilizing a complete history, thorough physical exam, and some basic laboratory testing.  We are able to provide solutions to a wide variety of common behavioral issues such as inappropriate urination and defecation, separation anxiety, excessive barking, spraying, scratching and digging, aggression, and much more.

Boarding:  We do not provide routine boarding at our facility, but do provide boarding for our patients who have complicated medical problems.  If you feel that your pet needs to be boarded in our medical facility while you are away, please speak with one of our veterinarians. 

Bathing:  Therapeutic bathing services are available.
